Aluminium 4000 series
4000 series aluminium grades contain 3.6-13.5% silicon and small amounts of copper and magnesium. Silicon is the main alloying element; it lowers the alloy's melting point, resulting in improved fluidity during the molten state. This makes the 4000 series grades good filler material for welding and brazing. 4032 and 4043 are typical non-heat-treatable Al-Si alloys. 4032 is an alloy in which the addition of Si suppresses thermal expansion and improves wear resistance, while the addition of Cu, Ni, and Mg improves heat resistance. It’s used in pistons, cylinders, valves, and bearings. Chemical Composition Aluminum 4000 series

Applications of Aluminum 4343 series
Corrosion Resistance Aluminum and more 4043 series 4043 is a typical welding material containing 5% Si. It's suitable for welding Al-Mg-Si alloys and aluminium castings because of its low melting temperature and high resistance to high-temperature cracking of the metal to be welded. It's used as welding wire, welding rods, and brazing sheets. Corrosion Resistance Aluminum and more4045 series The mechanical properties of AMS 4045 tubes are impressive, making it an ideal material for aerospace applications. It has a tensile strength of 68,000 psi and a yield strength of 55,000 psi. It also has excellent fatigue resistance, making it perfect for structural aircraft parts requiring a high-strength-to-weight ratio. Corrosion Resistance Aluminum and more 4343 series AMS 4343 material is a high-strength aluminium alloy widely used in the aerospace and aviation industries. It is known for its excellent mechanical and physical properties, ideal for high-stress applications. It has a variety of uses, from the construction of gears and transmission components to the manufacture of aircraft frames and landing gear parts. Additionally, it can be heat treated to improve its mechanical properties, making it suitable for use in even more demanding applications. In summary, AMS 4343 is a crucial alloy in the aerospace and aviation industries.
Conclusion 4043 Aluminum is one of the oldest and most widely used aluminium welding and brazing alloys. This material can be classed as a general-purpose type filler alloy. Its principal alloying element is silicon. The silicon additions result in improved fluidity (wetting action) to make the alloy a preferred choice by welders. The alloy is less sensitive to weld cracking and produces brighter, almost smut-free welds. The alloy is non-heat treatable. This alloy has a lower melting range than the base metals for which it is commonly used and relieves contraction during weldment cooling. Some more benefits are low hot cracking sensitivity in most applications, excellent corrosion resistance, and low shrinkage rate/reduced distortion. This material also provides moderate electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity, as well as low ductility, formability, and lower toughness. 4043 should not be used if you are considering the best color match after post-weld anodizing, as this filler alloy will typically turn dark grey in color after the anodizing process. 5356 will provide a much closer color match after anodizing. This alloy will typically provide a higher rating for weldability and provide slightly lower crack sensitivity. 4043 will generally tend to produce welds with improved cosmetic appearance, smoother surfaces, less spatter and less smut. For this reason, it is sometimes more appealing to the welder. For further details please contact us
