The SITRANS LR200 uses a 6 GHz pulse radar technology to measure continuous liquid and slurry levels in vessels, emitting radar pulses from its rod antenna and calculating the level based on the time it takes for the reflected echo to return. Its Process Intelligence technology improves reliability by filtering out false echoes from obstructions and handling turbulent or high-pressure conditions within a 20-meter range. The device is designed for easy setup and provides diagnostic information through its local user interface (LUI) and supports communication protocols like HART and PROFIBUS PA

How it Works

1. Pulse Emission: The SITRANS LR200 emits a 6 GHz radar pulse from its rod antenna into the vessel.  
2. Echo Reflection: When this pulse strikes the surface of the liquid or slurry, it is reflected back towards the antenna.
3. Time Measurement: The device measures the exact time it takes for the pulse to travel from the antenna to the surface and back.
4. Level Calculation: By knowing the speed of light and the measured time, the instrument calculates the distance to the material, which is then converted into a level measurement.
