Hydraulic Tube Bender
Introduction
Hydraulic Tube Bender Series HTB & HTB-A is a single-stage pump. The Hydraulic hand pump is simple and easy to operate to Rugged bending frame is lightweight 10,000 psi on heavy wall tubing. The Parker Autoclave Engineers hydraulic tube bender is designed to bend heavy wall tubing and provide fast, accurate and reliable bending with only one setup. The tube bender is complete with pump, cylinder, frame and bending shoes which are self-contained in a portable, lockable case. (Order number: HTB)

Working principle
Figure 2 below shows all components, including the description
Figure 2 - Hydraulic bender description
As you can see from Figure 2 above is very easy to assemble the bender. According to the tube diameter, the pieces to be changed are 3, bending shoes, Pivot pins and Pivot Pin Sleeves (A and B). Based on the tube diameter, the pins should be in place (in the holes), which indicates the tube diameter choice. Figure 3 below shows the bender configured for a 1" diameter tube.

Step-by-step procedure
- Thread cylinder into cylinder block on bending frame.
- Connect the pump to the cylinder through of hose provided.
- Thread the ram saddle into the cylinder.
- Attach the correct-sized bending shoe onto the ram saddle and secure it with a shoe lock pin.
- Insert pivot pin assemblies into the correct matching bending frame holes for the tubing you intend to bend.
- Position the tube onto the shoe, allowing the sufficient length of the tube to contact both pivot pins (see figure 4 below). See the table below for the minimum required tube length.
- Activate the hydraulic pump until the tube is bent to the desired angle, up to 90°. (Bend a few degrees over the desired finished angle to allow for the normal spring-back of the tubing).
- Open the ram retractor valve on the manual pump to remove the tube. (On systems equipped with air-operated pumps, press the “release” end of the pedal). Ram retracts for easy removal of the tube.

Note: Always refer to the table above for the bending.
Recommendations
- Because of diameter differences, such misuse could fracture the bending shoe. Use only diameter pipes as per manual (1/4", 3/8", 9/16", 3/4", 1")
- Annealed Parker Autoclave Engineers pressure tubing may be bent on the HTB tube bender using the bending shoe sizes specified above. HTB bending shoes are constructed of heat-treated aluminium alloy and designed specifically for use with Autoclave Engineers' heavy wall stainless tubing. They are not intended for bending such components as commercial pipes. Because of diameter differences, such misuse could fracture the bending shoe. For more details, click here.
- Never use this tool for other scopes.
