2.2 COMPRESSORS WITH VERTICALLY - SPLIT CASINGS

 Vertically—split casings are formed by a cylinder closed by two end covers: hence the denomination "barrel", used to refer to compressors with these casings. These machines, which are generally multistage, are used for high pressure services (up to 700 kg/cm²).

Inside the casing (see figure. 2.6) the rotor and dig phragms are essentially the same as those for the MCL compressors.

2.2.1 BCL Comgressors

These are barrel type compressors which have a single compression stage (see figure. 2.7).

2.2.2 2BCL Compressors

These are barrel type compressors with two compression stages in series in a single casing (see figure. 2. 8) .

2.2.3 DBCL Compresgors

Like the DMCL compressors these compressors incorporate two compression stages in parallel in a single casing.
